Early Career Researchers (ECR) event (10-11 July)
CREST is delighted to offer a free pre-conference workshop on the topic of International Collaboration for Early Career Researchers (current doctoral students and researchers within five years of the completion of their PhD, – not accounting for career breaks).
The workshop will draw on CREST’s expertise to develop ECR’s networks and knowledge in how to develop, engage with and benefit from networks for research, grants and career progression. Day one will focus on how to frame research to colleagues from different countries, disciplines and industries, focusing on the key messages to communicate; and how to build these conversations into useful networks. Day two will expand this focus to look at co-writing grant bids. Day two will also feature CREST’s ECR speed-dating, where ECRs can pitch research ideas to, and receive feedback from, practitioners and senior academics, putting lessons into practice to build user networks right at the beginning of BASS.
To derive maximum benefit from these sessions, attendees will want to draw on current or future research plans. In advance of the workshop, attendees should think about how they would seek to communicate these to others and plan for short five-minute pitches.
The workshop will run from lunchtime on Monday 10th July to midday on Tuesday 11th July.
Full agenda to come.
