Please ensure you complete the application form fully and also arrange for a letter of support to be submitted independently (please see below for further details).

Applicants must:

  • Have an accepted presentation at BASS24 (in any of the listed formats).
  • Be able to cover expenses beyond those covered by the bursary.

Letters of Support

The letter of support should come from your current/past supervisor or manager, from their institutional email account, and should:

  • Outline their relationship with the applicant.
  • Make clear the applicant’s area of research interest in security.
  • Outline the benefits to the applicant of attending BASS24.
  • Make the case for funding i.e., confirm there is no alternative and/or institutional funding available and the value to the applicant of participation in the conference.
  • Confirm the employment status of the applicant (student or otherwise).

Decisions will be made by a panel of three people (CREST Director, CREST Centre Manager, and another external reviewer). Applications will be scored on eligibility, interest in the subject area and the value of attending the conference to the participant.

Decisions will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding unsuccessful applications.  We will not accept retrospective or late applications.
