Welcome to IAPSS
The International Academic Partnerships for Science and Security (IAPSS) project is a global knowledge exchange hub that brings together academics, government, and industry to advance the field of targeted violence and terrorism prevention (TVTP).
Led by the Centre for Research and Evidence in Security Threats (CREST) and the National Counterterrorism Innovation, Technology, and Education Center (NCITE), a DHS Center of Excellence, IAPSS provides a platform to deepen international knowledge exchange and support the development of the next generation of leaders.

Network, Innovate, Secure
IAPSS aims to:
Network – Foster stronger relationships among academics across FVEY countries and global partners
Innovate – Facilitate the exchange of knowledge and methodological expertise across international collaborators, multilateral groups, and the wider public
Secure – Contribute to the development of the next generation of social and behavioural scientists in the field of security and violence prevention
We believe that progress happens through connection. IAPSS offers multiple opportunities for international information sharing, including:
A bi-monthly seminar series featuring research, practitioner insights, and policy discussions
An international hub meeting to strengthen global partnerships
A digital magazine showcasing innovative thinking in science and security
These activities enable open and ongoing dialogue across borders and disciplines.
Communities of Interest (CoI)
The Communities of Interest (CoI) programme brings researchers together around shared topics in targeted violence and terrorism prevention.
We now have three active Communities of Interest, each with its own focus area and opportunities to get involved.

Seminar Series
The IAPSS Seminar Series connects early career researchers with senior academics and practitioners. These one-hour webinars spotlight new research and share lessons learned from working in national security settings.
