NABS+ has four broad challenge areas that focus on Risk, Inference, Influence and Futures. Running through these challenges is Ethics. The specific questions tackled by each area are responsive to emerging challenges and will evolve as the network evolves.

 | Influence | How is information being used (and misused) for influence in defence and challenge? How might we better keep the public safe, in part through the promotion of their engagement in safe behaviours? |
 | Futures | What are the impacts of rapid technological advancements and sustainability challenges on behaviour, workforce skills and culture, and national security? |
