This IAPSS CoI brings together researchers, policymakers, and practitioners working in the risk assessment and risk management of terrorism and targeted violence. In a field where research and practice can become siloed, we aim to improve knowledge sharing to identify key problem areas, and work towards operationally relevant, collaborative solutions. We will focus on key research areas, alongside understanding and problem-solving barriers to research-to-practice, including data sharing, accessibility of research outputs, and dissemination channels.

Overall, we have two aims:

1. Elicit end user needs, to understand specifically what policy and practice need from research.

2. Translate research for practice to support evidence-based risk assessment and management policy and practice, to prevent terrorism and targeted violence.

We hope to host regular webinars and/or workshops on these topics, develop shared resources, produce a quarterly newsletter, and collaborate in joint research outputs, including reports, book chapters, and journal articles. The Risk Assessment & Risk Management CoI is led by Caitlin Clemmow and Amber Seaward (University College London).
