CREST is hiring an Executive Director. The Centre has extensive ‘executive’ agendas that encompass a rapid research commissioning process, a communication programme (e.g., quarterly magazine, toolkits), a networking programme (e.g., conferences, workshops) and capacity building activities (e.g., connecting sectors, supporting ECR development). We are seeking to appoint a director of these activities.
The successful applicant will deliver strategic leadership to CREST’s executive activities, ensuring they drive forward the Centre’s research, engagement and capacity building agendas in ways that maximises research excellence and impact. They will engage with key scholars and stakeholders, grow our successful programme of research communication and public engagement, oversee the Centre’s research commissioning programme, and help ensure the Centre delivers on its national capability for all users. Working closely with CREST’s director, they will be a central part of the Centre’s leadership team.
The successful candidate should have substantial experience of leading and contributing to activities of a research centre, the ability to communicate complex research effectively to a range of audiences, and experience of building and developing networks with internal and external contacts. The post will be fixed term until end September 2020, pending CREST being successful at securing funding to continue beyond that date.

Salary: £51,630 to £58,089
