Applications are invited for a Senior Research Associate to join a project that involves developing knowledge on best practice in the field of risk assessment and violent extremism in those with mental illness, through best practice benchmarking and the critical assessment of existing frameworks to ensure they are appropriate for risk where mental health and neurodiversity is a factor.
Working closely with Dr Zainab Al-Attar and Professor Paul Taylor, you will undertake literature syntheses, case studies, and help coordinate the activities of a national group seeking to consolidate best practice.
You will join a team of academic, post-doctoral, and PhD researchers who are part of CREST. You will have the opportunity to learn about, and contribute to, all aspects of research, including the development of innovative methods, the writing of journal publications, and the presentation of research at international conferences and to stakeholders.
This is an excellent opportunity to join and contribute to a national network of researchers interested in behavioural science applications in law enforcement and security.
You will have, or be about to complete, a PhD in psychology or a related discipline. You will be developing a research or professional profile and have the potential to publish in top-quality, peer-reviewed international journals as well as provide concise guidance for the stakeholder community. Experience of working in the field of risk assessment will be an advantage.
