The Cybernetic Culture Workshop: Consumption, Security & Society in the Digital Age is a one-day, expert-led event scheduled for Friday, 11th April 2025, at Lancaster University. Generously funded by the Research Institute for Sociotechnical Cyber Security (RISCS), this workshop aims to serve as an inspiring forum for exchanging ideas, showcasing innovative research, and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration among experts from a range of fields including cybersecurity, political economy, sociology, critical marketing, and digital culture to name a few.

Call for papers
Contributors for oral presentations are encouraged to submit a 500 word abstract via email to the conference chairs by Friday 24th January, 2025.
The workshop invites ubmissions which focus on all areas of digital consumer behaviour, cybersecurity, and political economy including conceptual and empirical papers.
Oral presentations should ideally be 10-15 minutes maximum with room for Q&A.
