PhD Student, Lancaster University

Abbie holds a BSc in Psychology with Forensic Psychology from the University of Lincoln. During her academic career, she was chosen by the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Scheme (UROS) to receive a research grant, and has presented her research at the British Conference of Undergraduate Research (BCUR) and the BPS annual conference.

Abbie is interested in understanding nonverbal behaviours in face-to-face communication. She places specific importance on the effects of context and interpersonal closeness on subsequent behaviours. Abbie aims to expand her field of study into exploring the cognitive processes and neural mechanisms behind how we interpret the nonverbal behaviours of others.

She is supervised by Paul Taylor and Stacey Conchie (Lancaster).
