Julie Gore
Professor of Organisational Psychology, Birkbeck College, University of London and visiting Professor, University of Bath. Julie's research focus is on Naturalistic Decision Making (NDM) and expertise; eliciting and documenting cognitive expertise in ill-defined, uncertain organisational contexts aiming to explain and accurately capture how people take decisions in their professional work. Findings from her research suggest how this often expert/tacit knowledge can be effectively used to improve the quality of decision making for individuals and organisations. Her work has captured the cognitive decision making processes of professionals in management, health, engineering, the military, day trading, and aviation. Her work has also explored the psychology of the decision making associated with executive reward, resulting in new theoretical (international, award winning) insights in Behavioural Agency Theory.
