Environment and Interventions: Assessing the environmental risk of terrorism
Operationalising an existing SAT (Situational Action Theory)-supported framework known as "S5" the resulting risk assessment framework from this project seeks to aid the design and evaluation of interventions aimed at preventing radicalisation through influencing context.
The project operationalises an existing SAT (Situational Action Theory)-supported framework known as "S5" for the UK context. The resulting risk assessment framework is intended to aid the appreciation of risk and the design and evaluation of interventions aimed at preventing radicalisation and terrorism involvement through influencing context. This will be achieved through two sets of concurrent activities:
1. A synthesis of current evidence on the environmental drivers of terrorism.
2. An e-Delphi exercise conducted with a group of experienced UK practitioners to produce a set of environmental, observable risk indicators relevant to the UK context.
